Laboratory of mechanical properties

Laboratory of mechanical properties has an extensive portfolio of offered tests of mechanical properties preformed according to standard and also non-standard procedures modified by customers.

Main activities of laboratory:

  • tension/compression tests – in the range from 10 N up to 1000 kN, on selected devices it is possible to make tests at temperatures from -190 °C to +1100 °C
  • Charpy impact tests with use of impact hammer with nominal energy of 150 J and 300 J, within the range of testing temperatures from -190 °C to +1200 °C
  • DWTT and DWT tests with use of impact hammer with nominal energy up to 10 kJ, in the range of testing temperatures from -190 °C to +1200 °C
  • hardness tests according to Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers in a broad range of measuring scales
  • hardness tests with use of portable hardometers of the Leeb type (probes C, D, G)
  • creep tests with possibility of scanning of deformation
  • fatigue tests and tests of fracture mechanics
  • tests of surface roughness with use of laboratory and portable instruments
  • technological and other tests (tests of bending, coiling, torsion, deep drawing, abrasion, heat treatment, step-cooling test, …)
  • calibration of undefined thermocouples and temperature sensors

The laboratory offers also in collaboration with other laboratories of the division a consultancy in the field of material engineering.
